What to Look for in a Gaming PC

PC Gaming is becoming more and more of a focus and the new high-end or even virtual reality games demand more and more power from our computers. So if you want to gamble on the latest games and even enjoy high graphics settings, you need a powerful gaming PC. In this article, we show you in 9 points what you have to look out for when buying a gaming computer!

9 Key Things to Look for in a Gaming PC

1. Motherboard

The right motherboard is one of the most basic things in putting together a gaming PC. The compatibility between motherboard,  RAM and CPU must be ensured to prevent compatibility problems. Also, it is advisable to pay attention to sufficient fan connections, because the CPU of a gaming computer can ever be quite hot. Before you buy the motherboard should be very clear which components you want to install in your gaming PC and connect to the motherboard.

2. RAM, lots of RAM

8 GB is enough for most games. Although many of them need 16 GB for ideal performance. As for the frequency, it does not need to be the best memory, but at least it must be DDR4-2666.

3. Hard disk

Newer games need a nearly exorbitant storage space of up to almost 50GB. Therefore, the hard disk should have the largest possible budget. Of course, a fast SSD is recommended here, but since these are still very expensive in large memory sizes, even a conventional HDD is enough to install the games there. For the operating system, however, additional SSD is recommended for a shorter system startup.

4. Processor

When choosing the right CPU, please note that it is compatible with the socket of the mainboard. Also, 8-core CPUs with a clock speed of 3 GHz is recommended for an optimal gaming experience. It is also essential that the processor is always kept well by its CPU cooler at a moderate temperature. If you resort to high-quality water cooling, it is also possible to overclock the cores of the CPU to get more power.

5. Get a good GPU

When we buy or assemble a PC we usually look first at the processor instead of the GPU, but in the gaming world, it is not the CPU but the GPU that will make a difference in your gaming experience. Using the most effective hardware, such as NVIDIA GeForce, is a key point when building your PC. So, what type of GPU to buy? The GeForce GTX 1060 is ideal to start playing in 1080p Full HD, since it can run most games in High or Ultra configuration, at 60 FPS. But if you want to enjoy the resolution of an ultra-widescreen or 1440p, the new GTX 1070 Ti is the best option. For 4K resolution, look for the GTX 1080 Ti, with greater power.

6. Graphics card

The graphics card is recommended to use the latest models, as they are synonymous to the high standards of current games are tuned. A graphics memory of at least 2 GB and a clock rate of 800MHz should then also ensure a fluent presentation of the game.

7. Power supply

Without the right power supply, all the other components of your gaming PC are worthless because they do not get power. Since the power supply is responsible for the power supply of the graphics card, CPU, etc. and the computer is thus dependent on the power supply, it should not have resorted to inferior quality. It is important to pay attention to the correct power supply that it has about 750 watts, so you can easily add new components without replacing the power supply and that it works to save energy.

8. Get an SSD drive!

This is very important. The mechanical unit is necessary for storage since an SSD unit large enough to store all games is very expensive. However, a small SSD drive for the operating system will give your PC much more speed.

9. Housing

The correct housing should be provided with sufficient ventilation fans, which keep the installed components adequately cool. Also recommended are enough USB ports to connect accessories such as a mouse, keyboard, speakers, headset, etc..
