In April 2016, Megan began her rap music career with the release of her single, Like a Stallion. Then she keeps releasing some more projects like SoundCloud exclusive mixtapes Rich Ratchet and Megan Mix.
Later in September 2017, Megan released her professional solo debut single EP, Make It Hot. The single became a success and got millions of views on YouTube. As a rework of Look At Me, Megan released her single Stalli Freestyle in 2017.
During her successful time, she auditioned for a cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Houston. However, she became the first woman to get signed with the Houston Indie 1501 Certified Entertainment.

To block her from releasing her Suga EP, Megan filed a restraining order against 1501 Entertainment in 2020. She also sued the record label. After filing a case against the record label, Megan signed a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Team.
Her new management team told her about several stipulations in her contract. However, she didn’t know about these stipulations because she was young.
The contract included the 60/40 split in the profits between Megan and the record label. However, Megan’s source of income only includes endorsements, merchandising, and sponsorships.
Moreover, the contract also includes that the record label has complete control over Megan’s name and likeness for branding and merchandising.
